AVG.    Pax Augusta.----August Peace. PAX AVGusti.----A female standing, dressed in the stola, holds in her left hand an olive branch; in her right a torch, the flame of which she applies to a heap of armor, placed by the side of an altar. Behind the female is a column, at the foot of which is a shield, and the capital is surmounted by a statue.---This legend and type, with varieties as below, appear on first brass of Vespasian.
